Overview

[11C]-DASB + [18F]-altanserin is a combination of two radiolabeled small molecules used as positron emission tomography (PET) tracers for in vivo imaging of the serotonergic system in the brain. - **[11C]-DASB** ([carbon-11]3-amino-4-(2-dimethylaminomethylphenylsulfanyl)-benzonitrile) is a highly selective radiotracer for the serotonin transporter (SERT/5-HTT), allowing quantification of SERT density and distribution in various neuropsychiatric conditions. It binds reversibly and with high specificity to SERT[3][1][7]. - **[18F]-altanserin** ([fluorine-18] altanserin) is a selective antagonist radiotracer for the serotonin 2A receptor (5-HT2A). Labeled with fluorine-18, it enables PET imaging and quantification of 5-HT2A receptor binding potential in cortical and subcortical regions. Both tracers are widely used in research on psychiatric disorders such as depression, Parkinson’s disease with impulse control disorders, and other conditions involving serotonergic dysfunction[1][5][7].
